And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
It might be a little crazy to have two gluten free blogs, but I wished to have one place to talk about the recipes and products and to have another place to write about the rest of the gluten free life.
My thoughts on the rest of the gluten free life can be found at Not By Bread Alone, whose name was inspired by that Bible verse.
However, for a little information about me…
I am Heather, mid-twenties, and gluten free since January 1st, 2008. I am finding this change of life frustrating at times and confusing most of the time, but the adventure of finding out what I can eat and the tasting of new foods exciting! (Sometimes I even do a little happy dance if I find something new in the store that is Gluten-free!) Since finding Gluten-free Girl in May of 2007, I have suspected that I may have problems with gluten. However, it was the encouragement of my Mom’s nutritionalist that prompted me to action. She said told my Mom to have me avoid it for a week, and if I felt better to try it for another week. If I still felt better after that, then it meant I should continue with it. I have not been tested for celiac, but the improvement in my energy levels and digestive problems is enough to encourage me to continue with this diet. (I don’t like the word “diet” in this case, but I’m drawing a blank on what word to substitute for it.)
I am very much a beginner in all this, and am learning as I go. I am not able to keep up with this blog as much as I would like, but I hope that eventually it will be able to help other people who are new to this too, because it’s a big scary world when you don’t know the answers to the millions of questions you have.
Beyond gluten-free, I enjoy watching movies with my brother and drinking tea, making graphics on my computer, spending time with my family and friends, baking, several different creative interests, and many other things.
